When we talk about cannabis for wellness, we're really talking about cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that occur naturally in these plants and, when consumed, interact with the human endocannabinoid system. This system helps regulate your body in several ways, including how you process different physical and mental sensations, and keeping it balance helps your body respond to changes, stress, trauma and so on.
Homeostasis is maintained in part through the cannabinoid receptors that monitor your body's metabolic activities and response to various external stimuli.
